Sometimes when the skincare is too rich it will not absorb into the skin but instead sit on top of the skin which can mix in with the makeup making it feel oily.  Its important to ensure that your using the correct skincare suitable for your skin type. Its important to determine what skin type you are. The following is to ensure your wearing the correct skincare for your skin type.

I personally save this step for my night time skincare regime because I still want the benefit without ruining my makeup application.  If face oils are applied before makeup application it may mix in with the makeup formulation causing the makeup to feel more oily.

Using The Wrong Face Primer

When it comes to face primers they are worn under your foundation, the purpose of a face primer is to help smooth out the skin’s textures such as large pores and fine lines. Makeup primers allow your makeup to last longer and prevents it from smudging off throughout the day.

The formulation of your face primer can determine the over all look of your makeup.  If the makeup primer is a silicon base it can contribute to your makeup looking oily.  If your skin type is oily you might want to look at makeup primers that have a matte finish, because it will have less oils.

A lot of the times setting powders help mattify the makeup which also helps prevent the makeup from shining. If this step is skipped it could contribute to your makeup feeling oily throughout the day.

Not Using A Mattifying Spray

Another way to set the makeup is by using a setting spray, the setting spray also helps the makeup last longer through out the day. There are two different finishes with setting sprays which is a dewy finish. Dewy finish can make the skin look more hydrated.

This could mean that the setting spray may have oils which can contribute to your makeup feeling oily. If your makeup feels oily try looking at a matte finish setting spray. A matte finish setting spray will absorb oils and will help the makeup last longer.
