How To Remove Makeup Without Makeup Remover

How To Remove Makeup Without Makeup Remover

I know that feeling when you have either run out of makeup wipes or even makeup remover, it can be frustrating, and the last thing you want to do is go to sleep with your makeup on.

So want to know how to remove your makeup without a makeup remover? Using a natural product such as coconut oil works well, as it helps break down the chemicals from your makeup similar to a makeup remover, and also using olive oil works a similar way and can certainly be used to remove your makeup if you don’t have any wipes or makeup remover to hand.

If for some reason you happen to not remove your makeup and you fall asleep, the makeup can cause your skin pores to become clogged and even create acne over time, not to mention that some removers use harsh ingredients that can cause skin irritation.

What Is The Best Natural Way To Remove Makeup?

You can certainly remove your makeup in a more natural way, or use alternatives and even create your own DIY wipes and makeup remover, without using any chemicals.

The first way to naturally remove your makeup is by using coconut oil, the oil will need to be melted down just by simply using your body tempreture just by using a small amount of cocnut oil. The oil itself helps break down the makeup’s chemical which then allows you to simply wipe away the makeup just by using a simple fibre cloth or even a paper towel.

The second way of using a natural product would be olive oil, and yes it’s the same oil that you use on salads and cooking. The reason for this is because the olive oil can break down other oils, and because makeup is generally made up of wax and oils it’s easier for the olive oil to wipe off the makeup from your skin, and the fact that your skin secrets natural oils it helps and together it will take a few drops on a papertowel and you can wipe your makeup off.

I have further spoken about both coconut oil and olive oil and how they work as a makeup remover.

Coconut Oil

Organic Coconut oil is one of the most natural ways of removing makeup off your face.  Coconut Oil usually comes in a solid state and can easily be melted into a liquid form with the heat of the body temperature.

Once its melted, It removes the most stubborn type of makeup such as waterproof makeup. Coconut oil behaves like a makeup removing balm, It breaks down makeup and melts it off. When your using organic coconut oil to remove makeup off your skin it usually helps keep the skin very hydrated.

It’s important to have a certain routine when removing your makeup with coconut oil because while removing the makeup with coconut oil it can smear it off everywhere creating a huge mess.  The way I use coconut oil is to remove the makeup from the skin, it is beginning to rub it into the skin and allow the coconut oil to lift away any makeup that had been applied to the skin.

Once the coconut has been broken down the makeup it’s best to use a damp face cloth to gently remove all the residue.  Lastly, make sure you use your cleanser to remove everything off your skin.

Organic Coconut Oil works well with stubborn eye makeup and breaks down the makeup, when cleaning up the makeup residue use a cotton pad soaked in water and gently remove any residue. This should keep your skin soft, supple and cleansed of all makeup.  Coconut oil can also help the elasticity of the skin which can be great for antiaging.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is another great alternative to remove makeup off the skin.  The difference between coconut oil and olive oil is that olive oil is more thicker and comes in a liquid formulation compared to coconut oil which is usually a solid that turns into a liquid.

Applying olive oil to the skin can break down long lasting makeup,  by adding a few drops of olive oil to a cotton pad and gently rubbing the cotton pad over your eyelid to remove any makeup. Again, there will be residue from your eye makeup, and the best way to remove it is by using a soaked cotton pad or a clean face cloth that has been dampened in water and remove any residue.

When using olive oil to remove your makeup it can be massaged into the skin and it will also break down the makeup. Olive oil has many good skincare benefits at removing sun tanning agents,  It’s also great with helping reduce wrinkles, reduces acne scars, sunscreen under you eye moisturizer.

Joba Joba Oil

Joba Joba oil is a drier oil and absorbs into the skin more beautifully. Joba Joba oil is great at removing really light makeup, the oil is a lighter oil and it isn’t as thick as coconut oil or olive oil. The best way to remove any residue makeup around the eye area is using a few drops of Joba Joba oil  on a Q-tip and  gently sweeping off any excess mascara or liner around the eye area.

I would still suggest to use a wet face towel to remove any residue and  wash the face with a daily cleanser. There are many skin care benefits to Joba Joba oil it can soothe and hydrate the skin, which is also suitable for all skin types.

When it comes to using a toner another natural way of doing it is by using an alternative called Witch Hazel. Toners are great at conditioning the skin while also removing dirt and oils from the pores.  Witch hazel can remove make up from the top layer of the skin.

I personally find it works best in removing any makeup dirt and oils.  It’s best to remove any makeup with a thicker oil such as, coconut oil or olive oil and then wash it off with a cleanser. Once the skin is cleansed well then it’s best to soak the witch hazel into the cotton pad and gently wipe off any excess makeup that may be residing within the pores, it’s also known to tighten the pores, and keep the skin squeaky clean.

Witch hazel is known to be an astringent that can help clean up  scratches and grazes and  even helps soothe the skin.

Baby wipes another alternative for makeup wipes would be baby wipes.  Baby wipes can remove makeup, and are usually used  for sensitive baby skin and is usually safe for sensitive skin types.

Baby wipes can simply be used to wipe off make up that may reside on the skin, it’s important to be gentle with these wipes and not scrub the skin but rather gently swipe off makeup

Fiber Clothes

Fibre clothes are one of the easier ways to remove makeup without having to use any makeup cleansers or makeup removers. Fiber clothes can remove makeup with just water, by adding water to the fiber cloth, it can gently remove makeup off the face.

The great thing about fibre cloths is that they can be used to wipe off any type of makeup from the skin.  The fibers in the fiber cloths remove makeup by grabbing makeup particles and trapping them in the fibers, which pushes away the makeup particles away from the skin rather than pushes it into the skin.

When using a fiber cloth to remove your makeup make sure you use it in a gentle circular motion to remove the makeup.  Once the makeup is gently removed, then  it’s optional if you want to use a face wash to wash the skin.
